Episode 3: Freedom of Expression and Islam
“If you’re not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”
This has been on the front-line of Islamic debate recently, especially with the famous cartoons controversy.
While the Middle East and Islamic states are continuously portrayed as totalitarian and dictatorial regimes that limit the freedom of expression of the masses, we fail to notice that over on the other side, governments and corporations go to the extent of manufacturing thought and consent of all individuals in western societies.
The system and control of the masses is very well hidden and the presence of debate and discussion does not necessarily mean that freedom of thought and expression is permitted. I discuss this matter in great depth drawing resource from many credible informants.
